OALPRP Strategic Plan & Goals

The Ohio Association of Litter Prevention & Recycling Professionals Executive Board participated in a strategic planning retreat August 27 and 28, 2002 to set goals for the association.

The retreat was a very valuable tool for the Board to assist them in setting a plan of action for the next couple of years. Our sole intent when we held the retreat was to look at the association with all it’s strengths and weaknesses and develop a plan that would strengthen the association for the membership. When the surveys were sent out, it was stated and was firmly believed that the association is our members – and we as a board have a responsibility to assure we are meeting the needs of our members.

Thanks to your response to the surveys, we believe we have set goals and objectives that are a good foundation to build upon and we have made every attempt to base our goals upon your needs as you have stated them.

Outcomes of the OALPRP Strategic Planning Retreat

Revised Mission Statement:

The Ohio Association of Litter Prevention & Recycling Professionals is a statewide association dedicated to professional development by providing leadership, training and networking opportunities to it’s members.

The mission statement was revised to reflect the survey results. Our membership felt we should provide leadership and continue to provide training and networking opportunities which the survey revealed as our strengths.

Three (3) goals were set, which reflect our mission statement and the surveys returned by our membership. The goals set forth in this strategic plan are a good foundation that we hope will assist us to strengthen the association. After setting the goals, members of the board chose a “goal group” to serve on and then set objectives for each of the goals, which are as follows:
